Dr. Rogerio Huang, MD

Dr. Rogerio Huang, MD is a fellowship trained urologist at Swedish Medical Center in Seattle, Washington. He has expertise in both male and female patients with urologic concerns and has a special focus on robotic surgery.

Dr. Huang graduated college at the University of Michigan with highest distinction and honors in Neuroscience. He went on to complete medical school at the University at Buffalo, Jacobs School of Medicine. He received numerous awards including Dean’s Letter of Commendation and was inducted into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha society. He graduated at the top of his class with magna cum laude honors.

Dr. Huang moved to New York for his residency training. He completed a rigorous internship in general surgery at Westchester Medical Center followed by urology residency throughout large tertiary care hospitals across the New York metropolitan area. His training spanned the whole breadth of urology including oncology, robotics, BPH, kidney stones, voiding dysfunction, infertility, trauma, female urology and pediatric urology. During his residency training, he presented at many national meetings including the American Urologic Association and won many competitions including the New York AUA Section Annual Resident Essay Contest and the New York AUA Section Michael J. Droller Chief Resident Debate.

He then moved to the Seattle, Washington and further sub-specialized into robotic urologic surgery. He trained at Swedish Medical Center with Dr. James Porter, one of the preeminent robotic surgeons in the world. He received one-on-one mentorship and honed his robotic surgery skills during his fellowship. He was then asked to join the practice along with his former co-resident Dr. Akhil Saji. Together, they have been providing world class urology care using the latest and most up-to-date techniques in robotic surgery.

Dr. Huang’s special interests include robotic prostatectomy for prostate cancer and BPH, partial and radical nephrectomy for kidney cancer, nephroureterectomy for upper tract urothelial carcinoma as well as reconstructive procedures including pyeloplasty, ureteroureterostomy and ureteral reimplant. He is also uniquely experienced in using the newest generation single port robot, a new miniature robot that allows the entire operation to be performed through one single 1.5 inch incision.

Dr. Huang takes pride in treating all patients as if they were his own family members. He listens closely to patients and personalizes their care unique to their specific needs.
